HPE Ezmeral Portfolio is a Bold Move into the Container Platform Market
HPE's fundamental premise of a hybrid world is that all workloads will not reside in or move to the public cloud. As such, the company's bet is on a seamless continuum of apps, data, and infrastructure spanning edge to core where "cloud" becomes the operating model for the critical IT layer powering the digital business forward.
While the focus on edge to cloud is critical to HPE's future success, the larger and somewhat bolder pivot for the company is toward an as-a-service business model and software plays a critically important role in the delivery of these services. IDC's research supports this premise and supports HPE's assertion that customers want to retain control of their hybrid environment at a time when it is beginning to redistribute itself outside the datacenter and move closer to the intelligent edge.
HPE Ezmeral software portfolio is a bold move into the container platform market. The HPE Ezmeral Container Platform is a Kubernetes based software platform for deploying and managing containerized applications in the enterprise at scale, for both cloud-native and non-cloud-native monolithic applications with persistent data. It supports a variety of use cases including Machine Learning (ML) , analytics, IoT/Edge, DevOps (CI/CD) and application modernization. With the HPE Container Platform, enterprises can now extend the agility and efficiency benefits of containers to more of their enterprise applications—running on either bare-metal or virtualized infrastructure, either on-premises, in multiple public clouds or at the edge.
